Product Description Of Xylene 1330-20-7
Xylene (dimethylbenzene) is a colorless, transparent liquid with an aromatic odor. It is the product of two hydrogen atoms on the benzene ring being replaced by methyl groups, with a boiling point of 137–140°C.
Xylene is classified into three isomers based on the positions of the two methyl groups: ortho-xylene, meta-xylene, and para-xylene. In industry, xylene refers to a mixture of these isomers and ethylbenzene.
The grades are generally classified as premium and first-grade products based on the distillation range at 3°C and 5°C. It is miscible with ethanol, chloroform, or ether but insoluble in water.
It is widely used as an organic solvent and in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, coatings, resins, dyes, explosives, and pesticides. Xylene has moderate toxicity and also exhibits some carcinogenicity.
Xylene pollution primarily originates from synthetic fibers, plastics, fuels, rubber, additives in various coatings, adhesives, waterproofing materials, as well as combustion gases from fuels and tobacco leaves.

Application of Xylene 1330-20-7
Solvent, used to determine the moisture content in many organic compounds, and as a cleaning agent for microscopes. Cleaning agent for silicon components and thermistors. Mixed xylene is a mixture of o-, m-, and p-xylene and ethylbenzene.
When used as a chemical raw material, the various isomers can be separated in advance. The mixture is mainly used as a solvent for paint coatings and as an additive for aviation gasoline.
